Thirsk Tips: Llewellyn
Record at Thirsk is 1223 and went too fast at Catterick last time when his finishing speed was 89.1% of the average race speed.
Danny Tudhope got the fractions wrong on Llewellyn ten days ago but is given a chance to redeem himself in the 1.45 Thirsk.
Sent off the 3/1 favourite at Catterick, Tudhope set too strong a pace in the soft ground, it meant Llewellyn’s finishing speed was 89.1% of his average race speed, much slower than par.
Under the circumstances Llewellyn did well to finish only 13 lengths behind the winner, fellow pace-setter Mighty Zip finished 20.5 lengths further behind!
A drop in trip and a more considered ride can see the 8-year-old perform to better effect. His record at Thirsk is an impressive 1223 and has scored in this grade before.
