Thirsk Tips: Money Team

Money Team looked a progressive sprinter over the winter and there is every chance he transfers that form onto turf.

In January he twice ran speed ratings above his handicap mark, including earning an adjusted speed rating of 86 for a 0.75 length defeat by Gentlemen.

So far this summer he’s only run once on turf, when a non-descript seventh at Catterick. However, that came in a period when David Barron was struggling for winners, his record of 3-82 during June and July well below his usual strike rate. Things have picked up in August with 2 winners from 11 runners and four runners-up spots.

It should also be noted that Money Team was previously a much better turf horse. He is 4-26 on grass and is likely to improve on his all-weather efforts.

He’s won off a higher mark before and his upturn could coincide with the yard returning to form.
