Thirsk Tip: Magical Macey

After a quiet period, trainer David Barron has had four winners in the last week and he can make it five in the 4.15 at Thirsk.

The stand’s rail is the best place to be and drawn in stall 12 of 14, Magical Macey should be able to race in a good position. He has visited Thirsk twice this season, finishing 5th from a poor draw in May and then 6th last time out when racing over six furlongs.

A horse with plenty of early pace he needs to race prominently over an easy five furlongs. Three runs ago he clocked a good time in a 0-95 contest at York. That was when the stable wasn’t firing. Dropped into a 0-80 contest with the yard in better form should see him go close.
