Considering Commanche Raider has finished second twice over course and distance I’m surprised to seem him priced up at 22/1 for the 5.45 Thirsk.

Last September he was beaten by half a length at the track and was a shade unlucky to be mugged on the line after hitting the front too soon.

Commanche Raider enjoyed a largely consisted 2012, showing his best form on good ground over 5f or an easy 6f. When faced with such conditions he finished 21042, with his only poor result excusable because he was badly hampered at Ayr.
