His record in 2015 below class 2 level is 41417223 and he hasn’t had the rub of the green in recent defeats.
Mukaynis has been well beaten on his last two starts but they were in competitive class 2 handicaps, before that he’d been running well in a lower grade.
Three starts back at Thirsk he was slightly unlucky when trapped in rear he couldn’t get a clear run. Once free from trouble clear he flew home to finish half a length behind in third.
It is debatable whether he would have won granted a clear passage but it shows he is in form.
During his defeat at Pontefract his jockey was caught napping as Silvanus stole a march from the front in an even paced race.
The hard luck stories are starting to mount but he is a good sprint handicapper and shouldn’t be 33/1 (BetVictor) for the 4.50 Nottingham.
