Chelmsford Tips: Come On Dave
Front-runner who ran well when held-up from a wide draw last time. Should be ridden more prominently and 4/11 in this grade.
Come On Dave is used to doing it from the front but ran really well last time at Lingfield after a change in tactics. Liam Keniry (perhaps with the consultation of connections) decided to drop his mount in rear from a wide draw at Lingfield.
There was the danger this perennial front-runner would sulk but he actually coped with the change in tactics remarkably well. He quicked off an even gallop to clock a 22.05s closing sectional, the fastest in the race by 0.2s.
He looks up to winning from a favourable draw and although stall 6 isn’t perfect there aren’t many front-runners in the 8.50 Chelmsford. With a strike rate of 4/11 in class 5 contests and a reversion to his favourite tactics, he can win.
