Musselburgh Tip: Boucher Garcon
Finished second in a better race only 5 days ago. Surprisingly, his odds are bigger today even though he steps down in class.
Boucher Garcon looks good value for the 5.00 Musselburgh despite his short price. Last time out he finished second in a 0-75 handicap when sent off at 5/2. Today, he drops down in class to a 0-65 handicap but is a bigger price. The supposed negative is that he races against more opponents, but I’d sonner race against 10 slow horses than 1 fast one.
Boucher Garcon beat several of his rivals on his seasonal reappearance and none of them ever looked like beating him. Musselburgh is normally a speed-favouring track and with no front-runners to take him on, Neil Farley should be able to bag the favourable nearside rail despite his wide draw.
At 3/1 (Ladbrokes) we are getting a good price, on the best horse in the race.
