Musselburgh Tips: The Wee Barra

Musselburgh Tips: The Wee Barra

Raced wide and attempted to track and overly strong pace. Not beaten far under the circumstances and drops down in grade.

The Wee Barra has been very hit and miss but the 2.15 Musselburgh could be one of his going days. At his best on a fast surface running between 8f-9f he has ideal conditions in Scotland.

Last time out at Beverley he could only finish 7/9 but was only beaten 3 lengths and had a tough trip. His inexperienced jockey sat too close to a frantic early gallop and forced to race wide he had nothing left at the finish.

The Wee Barra’s closing speed was 90.5% of his average race speed much slower than par for the track.

His performance deserves a hefty upgrade and with that in mind, he earned a speed rating similar to when scoring at Hamilton earlier in the season. This afternoon he drops back in grade and with Graham Lee on board we can expect a good run.
