Musselburgh Tips: Souter
Given too much to do on debut but matched strides with winner, albeit from further back. Trainer has good record with 2-year-olds at track.
Souter finished a close fourth on debut at Ayr but in time that might turn out to be an above average maiden. Sat in mid-division he was too far back given the steady pace (107.9% finishing speed) but he ran the second fastest closing sectional, matching the impressive winner.
Souter earned a useful adjusted speed rating of 76 on debut but there is every chance he improves for the run.
Keith Dalgleish has an impressive 16% strike rate (11-68) with his juveniles at Musselburgh showing a healthy £50 level stakes profit.
Well drawn in stall 1 he should turnaround the form with Election Day and break his duck at 3/1 (William Hill).
