Duke Of North Given Second Chance
Disappointed last time but profile is inconsistent. Previous course and distance winner in a higher grade and can bounce back.
Duke Of North disappointed when we tipped him at Kempton last time but that is the second time he’s been a beaten favourite in his last three and perhaps he is just inconsistent.
Two starts ago he finished fifth in a similar race (Encapsulated and Ghost Train re-oppose) but was only beaten two lengths and was slightly unlucky.
From a wide draw he was dropped in rear but the even pace meant the leader never came back to him. Duke Of North was not hard ridden when all chance of victory was gone but he still clocked the fastest closing sectional.
Drawn in stall 5, he should be able to race more prominently and having already won over course and distance (in a higher grade back in October) it would be no surprise if he were to win again.
