Wolverhampton Tips: Cappananty Con
Progressive sprinter who was an unlucky loser at Lingfield two starts back. Earned adjusted speed rating of 82, well above his mark.
Cappananty Con has enjoyed some extreme good and bad luck this winter and let’s hope we are on the right side of things in the 4.00 Wolverhampton.
Last time out we were extremely fortunate to get our money back after the race was voided at Chelmsford but the time before things didn’t fall our way.
Cappananty Con was keen behind a steady pace (104.6% finishing speed) and then had to wait for a gap to deliver his run. Unfortunately, he ran out of time and despite clocking the fastest sectional by 0.21s, he finished 0.25 lengths behind the winner.
Granted a strong pace, stiffer track or a clear run he would have won and was the moral victor with an impressive adjusted speed rating of 82. This afternoon he is actually down in grade and back to the scene of his first and only career victory. He can make it two.
