Lingfield Tips: Burning Thread
Ignore his last run when carrying top weight over the wrong trip. This more his thing and not beaten far by Verne Castle two starts back.
Burning Thread was well beaten on his last start but he had plenty of excuses. He was poorly treated at the weights, unsuited by the steady early gallop and is better over 5f rather than 6f.
The 3.30 Lingfield looks a trappy little sprint but at least Burning Thread has conditions in his favour. Last time he raced over course and distance he was only beaten 1.75 lengths by the progressive Verne Castle.
Burning Thread wasn’t helped by a poor draw but managed to clock a rapid 21.92s closing sectional, the fastest in the race. In defeat he earned an adjusted speed rating of 77 and something similar would put him in the mix.
