Lingfield Tips: Picansort

Peter Crate is double handed in the 4.55 Lingfield but of his two veterans I prefer the chances of Picansort. His record over 5f at Lingfield is outstanding, winning 7/25 races at class 4 level or lower. Last time out he finished a length behind Mossgo and he can turn around the placings with a 4lbs pull and different pace scenario.

Mossgo benefited from racing close to a moderate early gallop, meanwhile Picansort was disadvantaged by having to come from much further behind. In the end, he ran a rapid 21.74s closing sectional, the fastest in the race but it wasn’t enough to bridge the gap.

After adjusting for pace, Picansort came out best on the day with a speed rating of 76. He is running better than his current handicap mark and with Powerful Wind liable to set up the race for a closer, he can win again at his favourite track.
