Beverley Tips: Diamond Blue
Course and distance winner last time out and the yard are in cracking form.
Trainer Richard Whitaker is in a rich vein of form with five winners in August and a 23% strike rate, so it makes sense to strike whilst the iron is hot.
He saddles Diamond Blue in the 3.45 Beverley and she has an excellent chance of recording her second victory over course and distance.
Sixteen days ago it looked like she would be a desperately unlucky loser. Travelling beautifully in the pack, she couldn’t get a clear run until she flew through a gap in the last 100 yards. She was worth at least double her half-length victory that day.
A four-year-old, having her 10th start, Diamond Blue looks on the upgrade and against relatively exposed rivals, she is the value at 5/1 with William Hill.
