Beverley Tips: Roger Thorpe

Beverley Tips: Roger Thorpe

Has run well this summer with finishes of 332 but went too quick in the first two races and bumped into a well handicapped horse on the third.

Roger Thorpe finished third in a similar race over course and distance at the start of May and is sure to go close again.

The 7-year-old has been largely consistent this summer with finishes of 332 but he’s rarely had things go his way. At Beverley and then subsequently at Nottingham he went off too fast and was tired at the finish. Both times he would have benefited with being ridden with more restraint.

Marc Monaghan got things right at Ripon but unfortunately bumped into the well-handicapped Curzon Line.

Well drawn in stall 2, he can take a prominent position on the rail and with over half the field rated less than 60; this is a soft class 5 handicap.

1pt Roger Thorpe to win 9/2 with William Hill
