Beverley Tips: Ornate
William Haggas is running at a 39% strike rate this month and Ornate unlucky last time at Leicester.
Ornate isn’t particularly well drawn in the 3.10 Beverley but with so much pace drawn low it is likely to be a burn-up creating plenty of gaps for something to come from wide and/or off the pace to win.
Ornate has proven expensive to follow over the years, winning just once from ten starts but he’s got ability and was unlucky last time at Leicester. Hay Chewed got first run and had the rail to race against but Ornate finished only a length behind despite racing wider. He clocked the fastest sectional of the race and the quickest at the track from the last 321 runners.
William Haggas is absolutely flying at the moment with a 39% strike rate (27-69) in September. Daniel Tudhope isn’t a regular for the yard but he does ride Beverley particularly well, with a 23% strike rate (31-133) and a healthy level stakes profit.
A combination of hot trainer, jockey and unlucky horse last time add up to a good bet.
