Beverley Tips: Cocktail Charlie

Best of the far side group when badly drawn at Thirsk. Should capitalise racing off a career low mark.

Dropping down to a class 5 handicap for the first time in his career, Cocktail Charlie gets into the 3.50 Beverley as an unlucky loser last time out.

At Thirsk, he was the first horse home of the far side group after racing against a strong draw bias. The top-six horses were drawn: 17,15,10,14,16,1 – with Cocktail Charlie in stall one.

Unlucky to lose that class 4 handicap, he drops down a level today and surely must capitalise on his generous mark.

The five furlong trip should not be an issue, as he’s won over the minimum distance before. Furthermore, although he has the worst draw in stall 1, the draw bias hasn’t been so prevalent at Beverley this year with winners coming down the centre of the track.
