Beverley Tips: Baltic Bomber
Broke his maiden tag last month and has the potential to improve further. Both defeats this season were excusable.
The 3.00 Beverley is a wide open betting contest, with the bookmakers going 6/1 the field. The quality is low and with many of the horses inconsistent, I’m drawn towards the younger generation.
Baltic Bomber is having only his 10th start and that is actually a positive; he hasn’t had time to become disappointing like many of his rivals!
He found 7f on soft ground to testing on his seasonal debut but he bounced back to form with a maiden handicap win at Redcar in June. Always up with the leaders he showed good determination to prevail and was actually going away at the finish.
His last run at Catterick can be totally ignored. The racetrack was almost waterlogged and the meeting was abandoned after his race. In hindsight, it probably should never have gone ahead.
Therefore, from three runs, he has two excusable defeats and one victory. That makes him good enough to back at 11/1 (William Hill).
