Beverley Tip: Eastern Hills

Impressive last time out and handles soft conditions well.

Soft conditions are forecast for the 3.45 at Beverley which narrows down the field considerably.

Eastern Hills was mightily impressive in his three length romp at Southwell and any repeat of that form will see him win again. Having generally been campaigned at a mile, he showed plenty of pace at the minimum trip, recording a fast time to boot.

Alan McCabe’s gelding isn’t solely an all weather performer, he has winning form on turf, including a win at Beverley and a win in heavy conditions. The fibresand track at Southwell is deep, most closely associated with soft going on turf. If we hold that assumption, then Eastern Hills’ record on fibresand or turf with going softer than good is 5/29; a good strike rate for a handicapper.
