Beverley Races Tip: Lucky Art

After a long losing run, trainer Ruth Carr is back amongst the winners. Her string look well handicapped now they have regaining the winning thread.

It had been seven months without a winner but Ruth Carr ‘s stable are back in form with a 36% strike rate in May. After such a prolonged period many of her horses are well handicapped, having plummeted down the weights. It often pays to back a trainer once they have turned the corner and that is the case with Lucky Art in the 3.00 at Beverley.

The five-year-old sprinter was the horse that snapped that losing run and he continues in rude health, with two wins and a second in his last three outings. A horse with plenty of pace he has been fortunate to land the plum draw in stall one and will attempt to make all.

A winner off a rating of 71, he is still 10lbs below his highest winning mark. There is plenty of scope to rack up a few more wins before he reaches his ceiling.
