Arnold Palmer Invitational Tips: Chris Kirk

Enjoying a fine run of form having made the cut in 17 of his last 18 starts. Ranked eighth for adjusted scoring average.

Ranked eight on tour for adjusted scoring average there is no way Chris Kirk should be 125/1 to win the Arnold Palmer Invitational.

The 27-year-old from Atlanta, is not a journeyman pro enjoying a purple patch, he is a young golfer entering his prime. His 2011 win in the Viking Classic was against a weakened field, with the Open Championship running at the same time, but it still counts as a tour win.

His career has been on an upwards trajectory since then. Kirk has made 17 of his last 18 cuts stretching back to July last year and during that streak he’s recorded five top-10 finishes, including a runners-up spot at Pebble Beach in February.

Ranked 13th for proximity to the hole with his approach shots, he should be suited to Bay Hill, which is very much a ‘second-shot’ course. He’s in such good form he cannot be overlooked at 125/1 with BetVictor paying ¼ odds for a top-6 finish.
