FA Cup: Everton v Wigan Tip

The Toffees nearly always score but they can rarely keep the door shut at the other end.

The ‘both teams to score’ market remains an obvious port of call whenever Everton are in action with the likelihood of both goalkeepers picking the ball out of their own net always high. At best odds of 37/40 (BetVictor) for this FA Cup quarter-final clash, the stats suggest we have an obvious bargain.

The Toffees have scored in 25 of their last 28 fixtures across all competitions which is impressive. However, when you consider that the opposition have scored in 26 of those 28 outings, David Moyes must be tearing his hair out in pursuit of clean sheets. But whichever way you look at it, the fact that both teams have scored in 25 of 28 games since 22 September is quite incredible.

These two sides have already met twice in the league in 2012-13 with the scoreline ending 2-2 at the DW Stadium and 2-1 to the Blues at Goodison. Last season it was 3-1 on Merseyside and 1-1 in Wigan. Everywhere you look, there is evidence that odds approaching evens money is a steal.
