Everton Keep Drawing Blanks

Three points from three games is the least Everton deserve after dominant performances.

Everton have registered some impressive stats this season. They are leaders in terms of possession per game (64.1%), they’ve had the most shots (55), and only Tottenham have had more dribbles per game. Unfortunately the only statistic that counts is points and they lie 15th for them.

Three points from three games is a meagre return for Roberto Martinez’s men considering they have dominated all three of their games.

So far this season Everton have registered nearly three times as many shots as their opponents and almost four times the number of shots on target. Unfortunately, finding the back of the net remains a problem.

Nikica Jelavic hasn’t scored in his last 12 appearances for the club and has only found the net twice in 2013. Roberto Martinez looks to have fixed this problem with the loan signing of Romelu Lukaku but the Belgian is ineligible to face his parent club Chelsea this weekend.

That means Everton will be forced to rely on their misfiring Croat, who is 31/10 (BetVictor) to score anytime. If he doesn’t then the likes of Kevin Mirallas (19/5 BetVictor) and Ross Barkley (7/1 Coral) will have to pick up the slack.
