Musselburgh Draw Bias: 5 Furlongs

musselburgh draw bias

Analysis into the draw bias at the Musselburgh five furlong track.

Track: Musselburgh Flat Turf
Distance: 5 Furlongs
Stalls: Outside

Summary: The highest stall, against the stands rail, has a poor record due to interference caused by the kink in the track after two furlongs. Thereafter the bias is quite even. In big fields, horses drawn in low stalls, 10 or 11 places off the stands rail are advantaged. Being drawn in the middle of the track means you race on fresher ground and can round the field, thus avoiding interference.
