Your Gifted A Potential Winner At Lingfield
Has tumbled down the weights but showed signs of life on her last two starts.
Since Your Gifted returned to a racetrack in August, she has been a completely different horse – but not in a good way.
The 7-year-old has struggled to recapture her best form and is rated 30lbs below her last winning mark. Usually I would avoid a regressive horse but there has been a glimmer of hope on her last two starts.
She finished second in a moderate Wolverhampton handicap in December and built on that with a fourth place finish on Monday in a much better race.
The winner, I’ll Be Good, hacked up by 3.5 lengths having the run of the race, but Your Gifted was an eye-catching fourth. After a slow start, she was held up at the back of the pack but was always travelling well.
Turning form home, the winner had established an unassailable lead, but Your Gifted boxed on gamely to narrow down the margin of defeat.
It is possible she is regaining her form and a return to Lingfield is another positive, having won her only start over course and distance.
