York Tips: Indian Chief
Tumbled down the weights since his third place in the Dante but has shown signs that some ability remains.
Indian Chief returns to the scene of his greatest achievement this weekend. Third in the 2013 Dante, he has never scaled those heights again but off a mark of 84, surely he is good enough to win a handicap?
He shaped with promise two starts back at Thirsk coming from rear to finish fourth in a steadily run race.
I subsequently backed him at Chester but he ran a poor race. Connections tried a change of tactics and rode him more prominently but he pulled very hard and blew his race before turning for home.
From a wide draw, he will have to be ridden with cover but that might suit him and he could cause a minor shock.
