York Tips: Fairway To Heaven
Disappointed at Ripon last time but soft ground could be the key to this lightly raced sprinter.
Things didn’t go to plan with Fairway To Heaven at Ripon but I’m willing to give him a second chance, especially at 33/1 (BetVictor).
Held up on the stand’s side the 5-year-old never got into the race and I suspect he needs cut in the ground to be at his best.
His record when racing with soft in the going description is 1291 and his ninth place was excusable as it came in a Group 3.
The piece of form that lends me to think he can win the Coral Sprint Trophy (3.30 York) is his win at Windsor.
He earned a good speed rating, coming from last to first despite no obvious pace collapse. His finishing speed of 104% was quicker than par but not an optimal apportioning of energy, which suggests he can run even faster.
