World’s Greatest Handicap Blot

Lingfield Tips: World’s Greatest Handicap Blot

Ex-Godolphin filly looks thrown in off a mark of 64 after earning a sectional adjusted speed rating of 60 on first start for Stuart Williams.

In a busy day’s punting World’s Greatest could be the best of the lot and is therefore a rare two-point selection. The 3.40 Lingfield is a moderate contest and Stuart Williams has a done a terrific job of getting his filly a rating of 64.

She ran a couple of ok races for Godolphin last year and was picked up for a modest £13,000. Nothing out of the ordinary there – that is until her trainer got to work on her.

On her first start for Stuart Williams she was ridden by an inexperienced apprentice but shaped much better than the bare form.

Slowly into stride, visually she made moderate progress to finish fourth, beaten 3-lenghts. Looks can be deceiving however. They went a steady gallop (106.8% finishing speed) and World’s Greatest actually clocked the fastest closing sectional.

In a losing cause she earned and adjusted speed rating of 60 but the bare form was enough to fool the handicapper and she looks thrown in off a mark of 64.

Sean Leavy takes overthe ride and with Stuart Williams running at a 34% strike rate (10-29) this month we can expect another bold showing at 9/4 (Bet365).

*Returned and SP of 7/2 so settled at higher price because of BOG
