Shawkantango can Dance to Victory

Unexposed on the surface, this horse overcame a big draw bias to win on his last start.

A low grade sprint in the 16.00 at Southwell but some interesting contenders most of all Shawkantango. The Derek Shaw stable normally so prolific on the all-weather have struggling this season but they have shown signs of coming back to form in the last fortnight.

Shawkantango was actually a winner for the yard in the middle of January beating both Cheveyo and Dispol Grand who he re-opposes today. He won his race last race by a head but the performance deserves to be upgraded as he raced away from the pace for most of the race having been drawn on the rail in stall 12. That performance is even more impressive when you consider the horses inside of him (drawn 11-8) filled the last four positions and were beaten out of sight by a combined 64 lengths!

Only having his tenth start today Shawkantango is unexposed on the surface and drawn well in the middle of the field he should confirm his superiority again.
