Wolverhampton Tips: Cappananty Con
Should relish the step up in trip. Stayed on strongly over 5f last time out and unexposed at 6f.
Having been highly tried in his young career Cappananty Con finally drops to a level commensurate with his ability. He might still be a maiden but he’s contesting a class 6 handicap for the first time and shaped with promise last time out.
Cappananty Con was outpaced over the minimum trip at Wolverhampton but nothing finished better and his 22.95s closing sectional was the fastest in the race by 0.3s. It was a performance screaming for a step-up in trip, which he gets this afternoon.
A runner-up over 6f as a juvenile, it is slightly surprising he’s only tackled the trip once but it looks made for him. The in-form Robert Winston takes the ride and the price for the pair is too big.
