Royal Ascot Tips: Gentleman’s Code
American trainer does well at Royal Ascot with his horses and this is his best chance for this week.
In 2009 American trainer Wesley Ward stunned Royal Ascot by walking off with two of their juvenile races. Like most US horses, they showed amazing gate speed and were very hard to peg back. Gentleman’s Code is in the same vain and can win the 5.35 Windsor Castle Stakes.
Considering the trainer has already shown his hand it is surprising he is only 6/1 second favourite. Three weeks ago he comfortably won a Folkestone maiden, beating Bear Behind who he re-opposes. The race was no more than a breeze-up for Gentleman’s Code and the horse he beat is highly regarded by Tom Dascombe.
I suspect that Wesley Ward has a useful prospect in this horse. After all, he wouldn’t come all this way just to lose.
