Pontefract Tips: Waseem Faris

Been running consistently without much luck but slipped to a handicap mark that means he can drop down a grade.

Waseem Faris has worked down to a handicap mark which qualifies him for class 5 handicaps and that could make the difference in the 3.30 Pontefract.

He’s been knocking on the door all summer without things quite going right. At Chester he finished second from a poor draw, at Thirsk he was the only horse to make headway from off the pace and at Ripon he was best of those who raced on the nearside.

Well drawn in stall 3 and with plenty of pace to chase he should get the perfect tow into the race.

It is a quick turnaround for Waseem Faris who raced yesterday at Goodwood but he’s a hardy 4-year-old already on his 42nd start. Daniel Cremin positioned himself too far back in a race that didn’t suit the closers but he wasn’t beaten all that far. Given a slightly more positive ride, he could go well this afternoon at 9/1 (Stan James).
