Pontefract Tips: Lord Ben Stack
Desperately unlucky at Haydock last summer when he was undone by a steady pace and then got boxed-in when trying to challenge.
Like many of these, Lord Ben Stack makes his seasonal return in the 4.20 Pontefract but with a decent prize on offer he should be ready to go first time out.
When we last saw him, he was a desperately unlucky loser at Haydock. Granted a clear passage or stronger pace (105.9% finishing speed) he would have won.
Under the circumstances (he was also keen) he did well to run a good speed rating of 80 and looked perfectly capable of taking a class 2/3 handicap over 10f.
This afternoon he is well drawn in stall 1 and having run in the Royal Lodge and the Dante, he should have enough ability to win a handicap at 9/4 (William Hill).
