Pontefract Tips: Perfect Blossom
Previous course and distance winner who loves fast ground. Had excuses this year.
The 7.35 Pontefract is full of front-runners with the likes of Flash City, Captain Dunne and Lenny Bee all used to racing prominently.
There is a strong possibility that by fighting for the lead they go too fast. With the rail dolled-out they will be covering more than the bare 5f on the card and if the leaders fall in a heap then Perfect Blossom could pick up the pieces.
A previous course and distance winner, she is prolific over 5f on good to firm ground. She has not shown much in two starts this term but she’s had excuses.
At Ayr she found herself in a poor position during the race but was probably outclassed in Listed company anyway, then at Pontefract 6f stretched her stamina. Back under her optimal conditions, she looks overpriced at 20/1 (William Hill).
