Pontefract Tips: Love Island
Didn’t get a clear run when fourth behind Misplaced Fortune over course and distance last year. Good chance she can reverse the form.
Misplaced Fortune is understandably all the rage in the 4.00 Pontefract, she has an excellent track record and is racing off her last winning mark but there is no value left in her price.
Last September she won a race over course and distance, finishing 2.25 lengths ahead of Love Island and there is a chance Richard Whitaker’s filly could reverse the form.
Love Island didn’t get the clearest of runs and although she is 6lbs worse off, she is an improving four-year-old; her top three Racing Post Ratings have all come this year.
In a small field there could be an absence of early pace, which furthers helps Love Island’s cause and at 8/1 (Bet365) she could spring a small surprise.
