Pontefract Tips: Breathless Kiss
First time she has her preferred conditions in a long while. At her best, she is a smart performer.
Breathless Kiss was a big winner for this site back in April 2011 and at 16/1 she could provide further joy in the 7.35 Pontefract.
A smart filly, she only shows her best under specific circumstances. She needs a strong gallop, on good to firm ground or polytrack, over 5 furlongs. Then she is capable of running some big races.
She finished second in a listed race at Dundalk in October, finishing ahead of July Cup winner Mayson and she ran with credit in Group races at Goodwood and Newmarket last summer. Compared to that exalted company she takes a significant drop in grade by racing in a class 3 handicap.
Today’s official going description is ‘good’ but some fresh ground on the inside rail has been released for racing. The Going Stick reading is also borderline good to firm, so the ground should be fine.
Her last win came at Beverley a similar stiff track to Pontefract and if the go a mad gallop then she could pick up the pieces at generous odds of 16/1 (Ladbrokes).
