Pontefract Tip: Lucky Numbers
Has ideal conditions and his last two runs have hinted at a return to form.
With plenty of pace on this stiff track I’m expecting a hold-up horse to win the 3.10 at Pontefract. Lucky Numbers thrives under these conditions, and after a relatively light campaign, is starting to hit form.
On Saturday he ran creditably in a higher grade at Catterick, his second good run in a row after a second place at Chester. He seems to be coming to the boil and looks to be a winner in waiting.
To be fully effective he needs some cut in the ground; he has never won on going rated good to firm or faster. If you look at his record in class four events, at five furlongs, with going rated good or slower, it reads: 611225. The going stick suggests Pontefract will certainly be on the slow side of good today. At 8/1 (Bet365) he rates as a solid bet, with the talented Silvestre De Sousa on board, an added bonus.
