Nottingham Tips: Perfect Pasture

Sparked into life by the visor, winning his last two starts. Well drawn and manner of victories suggest more still to come.

With all the pace drawn against the rail I expect high numbers to dominate in the 3.00 Nottingham.

Berthed in stall 12/13, Perfect Pasture has a great draw and can complete a hat-trick of victories.

The key to the horse seems to be a combination of trip and visor. He has won both his starts in headgear and seems to relish the strong pace he gets in sprints.

At Hamilton, he streaked clear by 3.5 lengths when racing solo against the stand’s rail, which might not have been an advantage. He followed up with an impressive win at Carlisle, pulling clear from the pack in the last furlong having made most of the running.

Both of his victories have been achieved in quick times for the grade and there’s probably more to come.

The big danger in the race is Muhdiq. He was another horse to suffer from a strong draw bias at Ascot earlier in the season, a race that led us to yesterday’s winner Pettochside.

He is certainly better than his recent form but a wide draw could mean he ends up racing away from the action, therefore he remains on the ‘watch list’ for the time being.
