Nottingham Tips: Storm Check

Nottingham Tips: Storm Check

Steadily improving for his new trainer and ran with promise behind two well-handicapped horses at Doncaster.

Storm Check has been with Andrew Crook since the start of the turf season but this evening is the first time he races on anything with ‘firm’ in the going description and it could make the difference.

The 4-year-old showed previously little for Godolphin but it’s been a tale of steady improvement for new connections. Last time out he ran arguably a career best in defeat at Doncaster.

Sat in rear in a steadily run race (106.9% finishing speed) he could never quite get on terms but he clocked the third fastest closing sectional to finish behind two well-handicapped horses.

This evening he goes up in trip and down in grade and with both likely to be in his favour he should run a good race.
