Nottingham Tips: Elusivity

The 7.05 Nottingham is a race full of badly handicapped horses struggling for form except Elusivity, he’s been struggling with bad luck instead.

Last time out at Goodwood he was going well but found his path blocked by tiring horses and it was a similar story earlier in the season at Chantilly.

For a horse with only 3 wins but 9 placed efforts there comes a point when excuses run out but I think it’s the quality of race that makes the difference.

Despite having a high-cruising speed he lacks a change of gears compared to the best horses, which means he can’t accelerate into gaps and finds his path blocked instead.

His last win came in a conditions race just like today’s and a combination of a smaller field and weaker opposition means he is less likely to find trouble. 

The progressive Dutch Masterpiece is the big danger but he is stepping up in grade whilst Elusivity should enjoy the drop down in class.
