Nottingham Tips: Ambitious Icarus
Rapidly improving 3-year-old who has conditions in his favour.
Ambitious Icarus has plenty going for him in the 12.20 Nottingham. He handles soft ground, he’s well drawn, he’s in good form and he’s a previous course and distance winner.
At the start of the month he won a class 5 handicap at Nottingham, the same grade as he races in today. He is 8lbs higher, but the manner of his victory suggested there is more to come.
Last time out he ran a fine race at Musselburgh. The sharp nature of the track wasn’t in his favour and he couldn’t quite reel in the early leaders. He lost by half a length but would have won on a stiffer track. At 15/2 (Blue Square) he looks the value bet.
