Nottingham Tips: Adventure Story
A potential pace collapse on soft ground and the race could fall into her lap.
The 12.40 Nottingham is a poor quality race and I wouldn’t want to take a short price on any of these, considering it is the end of the turf season and we are racing on soft ground.
At the prices Adventure Story looks the best bet, especially if she can recapture some of her old form. Her season didn’t start until mid-July which suggests some sort of problem, but at least she arrives fresher than most.
She offered some recent encouragement at Bath, only beaten two lengths despite getting outpaced mid-race. A previous winner on soft ground, the holding conditions should prevent the leaders from getting away from her this time.
With plenty of pace in the field, the race could fall into George Downing’s lap as the leaders tire. At 8/1 (William Hill) she looks the value in the race.
