Conditions for the 2.30 Nottingham are soft but having won over course and distance a fortnight ago on heavy ground Ace Master has strong credentials.
The 5-year-old was particularly impressive in the way he caught long time leader New Decade, who at one stage looked like he’d stolen the race by getting first run on the chasing pack.
Upped in grade since that victory, Ace Master could still be ahead of the handicapper. He’s won off a higher mark on the all-weather and is relatively unexposed over 5f on turf, especially on soft ground.
Trainer Roy Bowring also has a tremendous record at the track with a 15% strike rate (15-100) and £56.25 level stakes profit over the last five seasons.
