Nottingham Tip: Moral Issue

The stable excel with this type of horse and drop down in grade for this 0-70 handicap.

The 5.30 at Nottingham isn’t much of a race and Moral Issue can capitalise on a falling mark. Having been hamstrung by a rating in the mid-70s, the three-year-old can be much more competitive in this 0-70 handicap.

He certainly hasn’t disgraced himself in better company. Even an eleven-length thrashing by York Glory reads well, that horse is now rated 95 and finished fifth in the Portland.

The really good news concerns trainer Jedd O’Keeffe. With nine winners this season and a 10% strike rate, he is on target for his best ever year. A shrewd handler with his small string of horses, he excels with three-year-old sprinters. In the last five years he has a 17% strike rate with them, delivering £31.42 profit to £1 stakes.

At 20/1 (Bet365) Moral Issue is in the same mould. He rates a good bet at a generous odds.
