Lingfield Tips: Where’s Reiley

Recent successes have come at this level and will enjoy the strong gallop.

The 12.30 Lingfield is a good quality claimer with three horses rated in the 80s. Sonko and Drawnfromthepast battled out a class 4 handicap at the track 11 days ago but both look vulnerable today.

Sonko has enjoyed a soft lead for her last two victories but with Powerful Wind in the field it is doubtful she will get to the front.

Drawnfromthepast has been in cracking form this autumn but there are signs he is starting to lose form. His last speed rating was three lengths slower than he’s been running lately. This will be his 7th start in 2 months and numerous hard races might have taken the edge off him. A similar pattern occurred at the start of the year. He ran six good races before going off the boil and losing twice in succession when a short price favourite.

With the top two in the market opposable, Where’s Reiley is the value bet. He loves coming off a strong pace, which he should get today and has run well at the track before.

The drop in grade could also prove crucial. His last three wins have come in claiming or selling company, the most recent of those victories at Wolverhampton in October. At 7/1 (William Hill) he’s the value against the market principles.
