Lingfield Tips: Taajub

If you ignore his last start on heavy ground his record over 5f last year was: 112431223.

It might feel like after the Lord Mayor’s Show but a 14/1 winner pays the same at Lingfield as it does at Cheltenham.

Thankfully, we have a cracking little sprint to get stuck into at 2.20 and I’m surprised at the price of Taajub.

He was a most progressive sprinter last year, starting his campaign with a couple of wins over course and distance and finishing with a third place in group company. If you ignore his flop on heavy ground at Longchamp his 5f record in 2012 was: 112431223.

Woolfall Sovereign is a big danger considering he is unbeaten at 5f on the all-weather but this represents a step up in grade for George Margarson’s sprinter, whereas Taajub is already proven at this level.

With Timeless Call and Bear Behind potential pace setters, the race could set up for Taajub to win at a 14/1 (Bet365).
