Lingfield Tips: Speak The Truth
Course specialist at his best in steadily run races. A likely scenario given the profile of today's runners.
Several old favourites line up for the 2.10 Lingfield and we are bound to see plenty of them over the winter.
Speak The Truth is back down to his last winning mark and this four-time course and distance winner looks overpriced considering his track record. Jim Boyle’s stalwart bagged two wins at the start of the year and both came in similar circumstances. His victories were achieved in races with a very steady gallop.
In stronger run races he is unable to go the early pace and leaves himself too much ground to make up and although there are two potential front-runners in Parisian Pyramid and Key Ambition, jockeys have been reluctant to set a strong pace on the new Lingfield surface.
If the race turns into a crawl it will suit Speak The Truth, especially if he is able to sit behind the leaders from stall 5. If everything goes to plan he could spring a minor surprise at 9/1 (William Hill).
