Lingfield Tips: Silver Marizah

The 12.50 Lingfield is an ordinary race and at the prices, Silver Marizah offers the best value. Lightly raced, having her first start for Roger Ingram and only her fourth of the year there is a strong chance she will improve on her recent form.

Last time out she finished seventh, beaten by 5.5 lengths but maidens are often stronger than low-grade handicaps at this time of year. She finished only half a length behind the 70 rated Red Ramesses and 1.5 lengths behind the 63 rated Foot Tapper. Considering Silver Marizah was only rated 59 it was a fair performance and the handicapper has been extremely generous dropping her 4lbs for that run.

Normally a front-runner, she shows enough speed to suggest she’ll cope with a drop in trip and at 16/1 (William Hill) she looks overpriced.
