Lingfield Racing Tips: Sherjawy
Record over course and distance is 211 and should have race run to suit.
Wreningham looks the one to beat in the 2.15 at Lingfield. He seems revitalised by the change of stable and has won two out of his last three; clearly a sprinter bang in form. Usually a front-runner, the likes of Royal Bajan and Welsh Inlet could hassle him for the lead and odds of 10/3 (Bet365) look cramped.
At three times the price, I’m going for the all-weather specialist Sherjawy. He’s not shown much in his last two starts but they are forgivable as he was drawn in stall 11 and 12 at Kempton, both wretched draws.
As he has got older the sharp five furlongs at Kempton seems too quick for him. A return to Lingfield where horses can win from off the pace is much more suitable. His record at the Surrey track is most impressive, with finishes over course and distance of 211, the only defeat coming by a short head.
Sherjawy should have plenty of pace to aim at and if they go too quick, the race could fall into his lap at 10/1 with Betfred.
