Lingfield Tips: Rocket Rob
Should get the strong pace he craves and ran well from a poor draw last time out.
The draw bias on Lingfield’s sprint course has been so well advertised that it now pays to go against it in the 6.45. High draws used to hold a big advantage but with jockeys so keen to bag the stand’s rail, they end up going too quick.
The race could develop for a hold-up horse and that will suit Rocket Rob. Normally a slow starter he needs the field to come back to him at the end of the race but he is in the form to win if things drop right.
On his last start he raced isolated from the main pack at Newmarket, with nothing to race against he did well to finish a close sixth. He travelled so easily through the race that if he had company he’d probably have won. There should be no such issues at Lingfield and he looks excellent value at 9/2 (William Hill).
